To fully block the heatercore inside the dashboard when using a singledin bracket or gaugepod without ventilation in the front.
 
Air normally distributed to the center airventilation hole will either be blocked by the heatercore it self depending on your distribution setting or directed with the air pressed out on the other airducts on your dashboard = almost the same amount of air will get out to your comfort area.
You can easily just make a thin blocking plate your self. This is just to make it easy for you to have a part ready for install. No other function than blocking it entirely.
 
Used my C70 like this summer and winter 2020 and have had no real issues with heating or cooling temp inside the cupe. Ofcourse it might take a little longer to cool or heat up but not anything i can measure or «feel» as an issue day to day.
